April 21, 2014

Ravi and Jaya celebrated 25 years of marriage together with their loved ones on January 15, 2014. Reviving the times when they tied the knot and said their vows, the couple called for a lively Sangeet function; the event was named “Aaj ki Shaam Ravi aur Jaya kay Naam.” The flawless event was arranged by Glamorous Event Planners at the Cotillion. As the sun set, the celebrations began. The guests started pouring in one after the other to become part of the couple’s silver anniversary. Right at the entrance, each guest was welcomed with a beautiful Gajra made of jasmine’s flown from India, women got a Gajra for their hair, while the men got one each for their hands. The spirit of the event was the number of Mujra performances by professional dancers. The night consisted of a collection of the best mujra songs and dances for entertainment; the guests enjoyed all of it too much with live flavored hookah in beautiful hookah stands. Besides the mujra, Jaya surprised her husband with a jaw dropping solo dance on the song he loved the most. The event planners from NY decorated the venue beautifully that perfectly fit the theme of the evening; Sangeet. They also designed beautiful costumes for the couple to match the theme. Jaya was in a beautiful deep blue and pink lengha – saari with a touch of gold; the highlight of her accessories was the imperial jhoomar in her hair. While Ravi, was in the same deep blue sherwani with a hint of gold; a pair of Khussas and a cap. Along with mujra dances and live hookah, the henna artists applied henna tattoos on the hands of female guests. The henna designs were gorgeous and unique; many females got henna tattoos on their arms, palms and the back of their hands. The anniversary celebration continued late into the night where the guests enjoyed the décor, the music and the dance with laughter, smiles and applause for the couple and wished them well. The night ended with a live paan station that offered freshly made paans to each guest.
